A Stronger Cord relishes its service to displaced men. Your scribe shares constantly with the guys in the Denver Rescue Mission's New Life Program, "Only God's grace and mercy spared this knucklehead from sitting in a chair and listening to you encouraging me to effectively deal with life's up and downs." We all have our story. This sports-loving dude also realizes, "The guys get tired of hearing all the time from this 66-year-old about becoming a student of life, not a victim." That's why I love friends like Will Matthews. We've been buddies for a long time. He's gonna start appearing as a guest speaker. Can't wait for the NLP men to hear his message for it is GOOD!
A Stronger Cord
Civic and Social Organizations
Helping displaced men through relationships to build a stronger cord to their families, purpose and communities.
About us
We're a program designed to walk beside displaced men. We build relationships, earn trust and encourage them to build a stronger cord to their families, purpose and communities. We focus on three areas: new social networks with positive-minded people, involvement in community service and an emphasis of wellness for mind, body and spirit.

A Stronger Cord's Service Saturdays for men in the Denver Rescue Mission's New Life Program had a good time yesterday helping Denver Area Youth for Christ spruce up its Aurora community center for an upcoming holiday party. Does your group need assistance with menial tasks? ASC's here to help. We believe men involved in serving others, instead of constantly receiving, is a critical piece in helping them build a stronger cord to their families, purpose and communities. We all win when that happens! #goodbetterbest #neverletitrest #comebackcoaches

Covid and a rare bone marrow disorder killing kidneys and requiring a transplant derailed A Stronger Cord's work with the Denver Rescue Mission. For the past decade ASC has worked with men in the Mission's "New Life Program." We're back. Building relationships, earning trust and encouraging men to build a stronger cord to their families, purpose and communities. Getting guys off the streets and re-engaged in society lessens the impact of homelessness. We all win when that happens. ASC is looking for mature men who are looking for something productive to dig into. Middle-aged dudes looking for a way to give back. Join us as a "Comeback Coach." Walk beside the men, earn their trust and build a relationship. THEN, we connect them to the abundant number of resources available to assist their journey. A man looking for some purpose in retirement? Kids are grown and gone? Is that you? Join us. Interested? Let me know! #goodbetterbest #neverletitrest

Remembering a devoted father, having an epiphany about him and how it has shaped my work with displaced men inspired this week's "Fridays with Mac." I hope you enjoy, "My Old Man." https://lnkd.in/ghhgaKQj
