  • Earlier this week Gabriel de la Torriente presented at the Ski Industry Climate Summit held in Munich, Germany, where he shared how Huntsman’s debonding innovation supports the end-of-life recycling of sports equipment.   Our debonding solution enables the layer-by-layer recyclability of skis, redefining how these products can be managed at the end of their lifecycle and facilitating a more circular economy.   A special thanks to HEAD, Elan and Rossignol for their invaluable contribution and collaboration that made this possible.   Together, we are proving that innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand to drive meaningful change across industries.   #innovation #debonding #sustainability #recyclibility   Photo credit: Diego Santos Buceta

  • This Thanksgiving, the Advanced Materials team in The Woodlands decided to extend our gratitude and thanksgiving beyond our families and into our community - packing lunch bags for food-insecure children in the Montgomery County, Texas area. Along with the food we provided and packed, it was such a joy to decorate the bags with fun games, drawings and inspirational messages. We are so thankful for the work Kids' Meals, Inc. is doing in our community and the greater Houston area - delivering over 142,000 free, healthy meals to children in Montgomery County this year. #HuntsmanGivesBack #Thanksgiving #WeAreHuntsman

  • “I began my journey with painting when I was 6 years old. I like it because it allows me to express my creative side and get in touch with my feelings," said Jordan Wu, Technical Manager of Power in Huntsman Advanced Materials Asia-Pacific region. “Every piece of artwork needs lot of time to complete. I can still remember taking a whole week just to depict the outline of a statue when I was a child, as the most important step of the whole painting is the pencil sketch. Painting cultivates my patience in a world geared for hurry and enables me to resist the urge to rush. “The patience that I have learned from painting has benefited me greatly in my technical work. It is well known that researching and developing a new formula isn't easy. The road to success typically involves more than a single setback, which means, you don't fail once. It's similar to painting: you keep drawing the outline, but you have to overturn what you've drawn over and over again to finally depict what you truly want. To be successful in our industry requires extreme patience and perseverance. “Now I get to share my love of painting with my daughter. The most relaxing moment for me after work is painting with my daughter and discussing how to draw a picture better together. My hope is that it can also become her lifelong hobby and benefit her in some of the same ways it has helped me.” #WeAreHuntsman

  • Our own Dr. David Hatrick, Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Innovation was honored this week to share his insights and perspectives at CIEX Chemical Innovation Summit, a conference for C-level R&D, Innovation, and Sustainability experts from the chemical industry. Climate change is the biggest driver of innovation today. The chemical industry faces a period of transformation to enable net zero targets to be achievable, and we must find more efficient and effective methods to increase the speed of innovation. In his presentation, David outlined three key areas where R&D organizations should focus to successfully meet the decarbonization challenge: ◻️ Develop truly multidisciplinary leaders who can lead across organizational boundaries ◻️ Provide advanced tools for increased productivity, including automation and AI ◻️ Increase the diversity of skill sets and expand the talent pool, e.g. combining chemistry, physics, and material science Decarbonization is a major opportunity for our industry to shine, but we must be willing to change our approach to ensure we have the right talent and capabilities to deliver success. • “I enjoy taking on new challenges and pushing my boundaries,” says Jose Fanjul, Senior Global Strategic Marketing Manager for Huntsman Advanced Materials. “Whether it’s running several races each year, competing in paddle tennis, or exploring new adventures such as water sports, or skiing, I’m always seeking ways to grow and excel.” When Jose is not spending quality time with his family, or preparing for his next triathlon, he’s guiding market strategy, managing innovation projects, and facilitating global cross-functional teams for our Advanced Materials’ Industrial Market. “Developing a new strategy or creating a launch plan for new innovations is a journey filled with many challenges and requires planning and perseverance. But it’s the process and proper execution that drives success,” says Jose. “It requires close collaboration with cross functional teams and our customers to understand market trends and needs. Finding a material solution that addresses those challenges and gives our customers a competitive advantage is very rewarding.” “At Huntsman, I’m passionate about working in a global environment - it requires flexibility, trend identification, and discovering new ways of working. This dynamic setting fuels my motivation, drives continuous learning, and inspires me to push new boundaries for success.” #WeAreHuntsman

  • “When I’m free diving, I feel completely in my element – fully alive and present in the moment. There's no planning or dwelling on the past, just a pure sense of freedom. That's why I love it,” says Stephan COSTANTINO, Technology Manager for Huntsman Advanced Materials, based in Basel, Switzerland. “Mastering my body and maintaining control is exhilarating, and it’s something I continually strive for, whether I’m diving, running, or cycling. Free diving in the sea or competing in a triathlon requires immense discipline and practice but the benefits extend far beyond sports. It enhances my professional life by helping me think more clearly and allows me to find innovative solutions to complex challenges – often when I’m out running or cycling. “My journey to where I am today started with my early passion for cycling and a fascination with the carbon fiber and epoxy materials used in sports. That curiosity led me to study material engineering and ultimately brought me to my current role at Huntsman. “Now, I lead the application and testing lab in Basel, where we assess the mechanical performance of adhesives, composites, casting, encapsulation, and other materials. We aim to ensure clients get the best results from Huntsman’s products. “For me, everything is interconnected – finding the right balance between family life, work, and sports is essential, and I prioritize it in all aspects of my life.” #WeAreHuntsman

  • In recognition of International Adhesive & Sealant Day on September 29th, we’re revisiting all the ways #adhesives help you elevate your product designs and improve assembly operations. Every day, our society relies on adhesives for countless essentials—from home and office products to the vehicles we drive, and the mobile devices we use. Most industrial products are comprised of components which need to be fixed together in some way. Mechanical fasteners such as screws, rivets or spot welds are frequently used, but engineers are increasingly choosing to use adhesive bonding for its many benefits. Advantages of adhesive bonding include: ·      Distribution of loads over wider surface areas ·      Weight reduction of the finished product ·      Eliminating or minimizing corrosion ·      Dampening vibration ·      Eliminating joint fatigue ·      Aesthetic improvement for complex designs ·      Electrical insulation ·      Boosting impact resistance ·      Joining of dissimilar materials For over 50 years, #Huntsman has been a pioneer in high-performance adhesive technologies. With a robust portfolio of epoxy, polyurethane and acrylate technologies, our experts are ready to help you tackle your toughest bonding challenges.
