We were proud to attend the Engineering News-Record LA Infrastructure Forum, where leaders discussed transformative projects leading up to the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. AECOM’s Ken Billups, Vice President of Economic Inclusion & Social Impact, presented on how mega-sporting events drive workforce development. Notable speakers included Holly Mitchell, LA County Board of Supervisors; Randall Winston, LA’s Deputy Mayor of Infrastructure; and Stephanie Wiggins of Metro, who highlighted how Games-related infrastructure can inspire lasting community confidence and legacy. Tim Lindholm emphasized the importance of immediate planning, citing major projects like the Metro airport connector and the Purple Line expansion. We were thrilled to hear how we are all #transformingLA with the community benefits such as small business inclusion, first-and-last-mile connectivity, and a commitment to renewable energy and hydrogen solutions. The Réseau express métropolitain (#REMmtl) project recently received the Excellence in Concrete Construction Award from the American Concrete Institute (ACI). The REM is the largest public project undertaken in Québec in the last 50 years, offering commuters a 20-hour a day service, 7 days a week.       AECOM is pleased to have contributed to the design of steel bridges, precast concrete segmental viaducts, and the design of concrete viaducts using NEBT girders. Given the harsh winter climate in the Montreal region, the construction was adapted to freeze-thaw cycles, large temperature variations, snow, rain, black ice, and the main structures were designed for a 100-year service-life.   Congratulations to all NouvLR team members for this great achievement: AtkinsRéalis /Aecon Group Inc., Dragados Canada, Inc., EBC Inc., Pomerleau

We recently hosted a successful DBE outreach event for the Eastside Corridor Phase 2 (ESP2) project, connecting qualified firms with Los Angeles Metro and AECOM. Held at the Tamayo Restaurant & Art Gallery, a cultural landmark in the Los Angeles/Montebello area, the event celebrated California’s Latino heritage and its commitment to equitable growth. Restored by The East Los Angeles Community Union (TELACU), the venue stands as a testament to economic development in underserved communities. Over 70 DBE and Small Business representatives attended, engaging with our project leaders John Rinard and Ali Adam, P.E. CEng MICE MBA ENV SP about the project’s potential to enhance connectivity and revitalize local communities. Guests enjoyed inspiring conversations and exceptional cuisine in a space adorned with artwork, including pieces by Rufino Tamayo. We are excited for this project to improve equitable access to vibrant, culturally rich communities, continuing a legacy of growth through thoughtful preservation and community-focused design. We thank everyone who attended, as the event fostered meaningful engagement with the DBE community, contributing to our commitment to diversity, inclusion and cross-cultural collaboration. #DBE #SB #CommunityEngagment #LACorridor

Maryland’s transit future is on the move. We're excited to be partnering with Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT-MTA) to advance Baltimore’s rail infrastructure by managing the implementation of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC). Key benefits of CBTC include enhanced safety, increased capacity and reliability, optimized operations, and an improved passenger experience. The technology will support the new Metro SubwayLink railcars that will begin service in 2025, helping to enhance service reliability and efficiency. The system began mainline testing in October.   From initial concept to detailed design, we offer comprehensive CBTC planning and design services tailored to the unique requirements of each project. We’re thrilled to collaborate with MDOT-MTA as they lead the way in shaping a safer and more resilient future for public transit. #transit #MDOTmoves #CBTC
