Congratulations to all the volunteers who organized the ASIA and ISACA combined ACT event last night especially Jonathan Tremethick. It was a thoughtful, engaging, and entertaining evening. Featuring four candidates standing for the 19th October ACT election, the event ventured into new territory for some cybersecurity enthusiasts but sparked an essential dialogue with our potential representatives. Here are a few key takeaways: 1. The Vital Role of Digital Services: Now more than ever, it’s crucial to recognize the importance of our digital services and the need for their security, availability, and integrity (i.e., CIA). 2. Inclusivity in Digital Transformation: As a society, we must ensure that everyone is included in the digital journey, especially those who lack access to or struggle with using these services. 3. Local Considerations and Sovereignty: It’s essential to consider local needs and sovereignty, understanding the complexities of service supply chains. Things can break, and not all countries have our best interests at heart. Investing in a skilled and trained workforce (starting from an early age) is vital, as is supporting the startup community. A vibrant small business sector fosters innovation, employment, and independence. Support your local businesses whenever possible! To the four candidates Mallika Raj ACT Labor, Thomas Emerson Independent, Emma Davidson MLA ACT Greens, and Ramon Bouckaert Liberals, thank you for spending your evening with us. Two way conversations about these topics are a critical and a wonderful part of our free democracy. We wish you the best for the elections. And finally thankyou to our sponsor #CyberCX , great facilitation. #AISAACT, #AISA, #ISACA
