Very cool to be with APWA Central Pennsylvania Saturday evening at the West Shore Elks Lodge in Camp Hill and share in its 60th anniversary. Our Andrea Eales and Mark Shade shared an American Public Works Association government advocacy and public visibility update. We were also honored to meet Pennsylvania State Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill and watch the chapter swear-in its new officers for 2025. BTW ... the senator is a friend of public works. Her message was spot on. And, yes, Marty Williams, we suggested #publicworks #firstresponder legislation. Congrats, Elizabeth Cheeseman (She/ Her), Ryan Scanlan, Sherri Chippo, Ph.D. and others on your great leadership! We look forward to seeing this chapter increasing its public visibility from the Maryland border to the New York border.

As Andrea Eales is at the U.S. Department of Transportation in D.C., Marty Williams is in the City of Cape Coral for day 2 of meetings with SAFECOM. The sessions today have featured SAFECOM Chair Gerald Reardon; Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency's Beth Mahon; Chief Jay Kopstein, SAFECOM 2nd vice chair; Vincent DeLaurentis, CISA deputy executive assistant director for emergency communications; Custrina Reeves, CISA SED Partnerships section chief; and Brandon Smith, CISA emergency communications coordinator for Region 10.

Our director of government and public affairs, Andrea Eales, represents American Public Works Association members on FHWA National Highway Institute's Ex. Leadership Group for Transportation Incident Management. She is at the U.S. Department of Transportation this morning to meet during Crash Responder Safety Week and oversee the signing a proclamation for #CRSW.
