On July 24, BT New York Partner Michele Alexander presented "Tax Concerns of Foreign Persons Investing in the United States - Funds and Passive Investments" as part of a panel discussion at Practising Law Institute (PLI)'s Basics of International Taxation 2024 program. Michele's session provided a comprehensive overview of the U.S. taxation of foreign persons, both generally and as it relates to different types of income from funds and passive investments.

Last week, BT New York Partner John Olivieri spoke at the NYU School of Professional Studies' Introduction to Trusts and Estates program, located in the heart of NYC. His presentation discussed the critical aspects of estate planning and estate administration and how its perception has changed over the years, with an emphasis on valuation in the context of closely held business interests, family limited partnerships, and the Special Valuation Rules of Chapter 14 of the Code.
