I regret to inform you that Linkedin has some haters 😒 Someone very ashy reported one of my popular posts for “H@te Speech” and it was removed. Let me tell you something. *Clears throat* For my entire life as a fat, Black Muslim girl, I’ve been silenced. I’ve been silenced by an abusive deadbeat father. I’ve been silenced by a misogynistic religious community. I’ve been silenced by an emotionally abusive ex. I’ve been silenced by 🙋🏻♂️ men and 👱🏼♀️ women in the workplace. I’ve been silenced by trolls, frenemies, million dollar companies, and strangers in passing. Can I be vulnerable with you? It was the summer of 2015, and I remember sitting in the parking lot of an ice cream shop with the windows rolled down after a failed attempt at donating plasma for 30 bucks for gas and dinner that day. Heavy tears rolled down my cheeks and I started punching the dash with fury, with pain. I screamed, “what am I here for? What tf do you want me to do?” To the universe, to no one in particular. I made a promise to myself after I wiped my face clean of salty tears and snot to continue to show up, to speak out loud, to never allow anyone or anything to silence me ever again. So no, I am NOT hateful. I do NOT spread h@te speech and you and your ashy elbows can report me and try and silence me all you want, but I guarantee you will NOT win. Because God don’t like ashy 💅🏽 Now go hire a Black woman instead of reporting her posts! https://lnkd.in/ebP9Fxgw #HireBlackWomen #influencer #contentcreator #DEI #socialmedia
