We’re pleased to announce that Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health won the Pet Food Innovation Award 2024 at the Food Ingredients Europe tradeshow in Frankfurt on November 19. Our entry, “Modern Pet Diets Require Modern Ingredients to Keep Pace with Changing Consumer Demands,” features TruPet C, an innovative product from our TruPet postbiotic range. This ultra-concentrated formula supports a balanced and diverse gut microbiome, maintaining its effectiveness through modern food processing methods like retort, extrusion, and high-pressure. This recognition highlights our commitment to advancing nutrition and health solutions that meet evolving consumer needs. By developing products like TruPet C, we contribute to the broader goal of improving food quality and safety, which benefits not just pets but the entire food supply chain. The #EuroTier2024 event unveiled exciting innovations and insights that are shaping the future of the swine industry. Anja Keiner hosted an engaging session on "Leveraging the Power of Phytogenics to Support Piglets in Overcoming Weaning Challenges." She explored innovative strategies to bolster piglet resilience during the critical post-weaning period, showcasing Cargill's extensive expertise in phytogenics. Anja also highlighted Cinergy Protect, the first product under Cargill's new Cinergy brand within the Micronutrition & Health Solutions portfolio. Cinergy Protect is a next-generation phytogenic solution designed to support piglet resilience and growth in the crucial first 14 days post-weaning. Additionally, Graziano Mantovani, our Swine Lead for Western Europe, delivered an insightful presentation on "Rooting for Resilience: Sustainable Protein Solutions for Swine Diets." Attendees gained valuable knowledge on strategies for optimizing protein content in swine diets, deriving from Cargill's expertise in fermentation products and phytogenics. This foundation led to the development of Aminoreach® Dual, a solution launched at #EuroTier2024, designed to optimize protein and amino acid digestion in pigs. This innovation not only enhances animal performance and lowers feed costs but also contributes to sustainability through reduced nitrogen emissions. Visitors to the Cargill booth also had the opportunity to engage with an immersive Nutriplay wall to learn the science behind Neopigg Nutriplay®, our innovative piglet pre-starter that combines nutritional and cognitive factors to stimulate early feed intake. We’re excited to share more highlights from recent sessions at #EuroTier2024 Philip Ingram, our Ruminants Technology Application Expert, delivered a compelling presentation on “Reducing dairy emissions: Integrated approaches for a sustainable future.” Phil discussed the critical importance of carbon and nitrogen footprints in dairy farming and the need for complementary approaches to achieve the best results. He also highlighted the tools and nutritional solutions we offer to help farmers achieve a more sustainable future. Additionally, ROMAIN BIDAUX, our Ruminants Innovation Specialist, presented at the #EuroTier Technical Program on “Innovative approaches to nitrogen efficiency: going further on protein reduction.” Romain explored the challenges associated with reducing crude protein in animal diets and shared insights from a survey conducted across six Western European countries.

The 2024 Fortune China 500 Summit in Shanghai focused on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices. Industry leaders discussed practical methodologies, including how technological innovation could enhance ESG implementation and influence the supply chain. Hongfei Zheng emphasized, "We target to bring both long-term social impacts and short to mid-term returns through ESG.
