The new paper by Sarosh Anklesaria, "Architectures of Dissent: Building Memorials to Gandhi through Everyday Praxis," examines the controversial redevelopment of Sabarmati Ashram. I count myself among one of many lucky students in Professor Bill Bates’ class on Value Based Design here at Carnegie Mellon Architecture which inspired change in our perspectives as designers but more importantly, as people. Here’s only a tiny glimpse into the invaluable contributions made by him in both the Architectural profession as well as pedagogy.
