Meet Samantha Canham, Chartered Manager of the Week! 👋 For a chance to be named Chartered Manager of the Week, simply complete this Google form: https://lnkd.in/ep6gWrqn
🌟 Meet our Chartered Manager of the Week: Samantha Canham CMgr FCMI 🌟 Sam was seconded to the role of senior continuous improvement manager at Currys plc earlier this year. She credits becoming a Chartered Manager with helping her to take the step up. “I genuinely don’t think I would have got the job had I not become a Chartered Manager, because my people skills wouldn’t have been there,” she says. Her journey with CMI began after she encountered its resources through colleagues. This led her to carry out assessments of her communication style. She realised that she didn’t have much empathy. Sam did not want that to be the case; she wanted to be approachable and to help her team grow and develop. She started looking at routes to change her management style. She achieved Chartered Manager status almost two years ago and rates the tools it has given her as “fantastic”. It had a big impact on her management style; it has helped her relax a little and relinquish some control to her team members when appropriate. “With things like Chartered Manager status, it’s all about the accreditation. But unless you take the material away and actually start to live it, there’s no point in those post-nominals. If you’re going to do it, you’ve got to do it properly.” 👉 Find out more about becoming a Chartered Manager here: https://bit.ly/3Wj5bND – and get 10% off the price of a full assessment with promo code: CMSocDisc10 #CharteredManager #CMgr #Management #Leadership #Careers

"NHS reform cannot succeed without skilled leadership." - CMI CEO, Ann Francke OBE. Read more in the article below👇
🏥🧑⚕️ Skilled managers are crucial for reforming the NHS. Effective leadership results in better patient satisfaction, shorter waiting times, and improved staff retention, among other benefits. Plans to restrict access to apprenticeship levy funds for senior leaders’ training create a new hurdle. We must ensure that staff at all levels have access to robust training to develop their management skills and empower those around them. Read our CEO Ann Francke OBE's latest piece in the National Health Executive for a deeper dive into why skilled leadership is essential to the NHS' success 👇

📣 Introducing Dr Naznin Tabassum - Chartered Manager of the Week! For a chance to be named Chartered Manager of the Week, simply complete this Google form: https://lnkd.in/ep6gWrqn
🌟 Meet our Chartered Manager of the Week: Dr Naznin Tabassum (PhD, SHEA, CMgr MCMI, CMBE) 🌟 “Reflecting on my practice while completing the Chartered Manager application was highly beneficial,” says Dr Naznin Tabassum CMgr MCMI, senior lecturer in strategy and leadership and programme leader for the MSc in management at the University of Derby. “It helped me to identify areas where I needed to further develop my skills, and to recognise ways to improve how I manage both people and time.” Mentoring and receiving feedback from colleagues were always important to Naznin, but becoming a Chartered Manager “enhanced” this for her. “Now I actively seek feedback for everything I do.” Mentoring, she says, offers more than just professional benefits; it provides an opportunity for holistic personal development. “Through guidance, deep encouragement, reflection and structured learning, mentoring can support the growth and development of the individual as a whole,” she says. Naznin received the Research Supervisor of the Year award at the University of Derby’s 2024 Education Awards after her students called her an “exemplary mentor”. 👉 Find out more about becoming a Chartered Manager here: https://bit.ly/3Wj5bND – and get 10% off the price of a full assessment with promo code: CMSocDisc10 #CharteredManager #CMgr #Management #Leadership #Careers
