Our Honor a Caregiver campaign is officially underway, celebrating the dedication of these everyday heroes. When you recognize a caregiver, you remind them why they do what they do—renewing their passion and commitment to caring for our community. Help us provide kids with critical services, such as support when they are in pediatric intensive care and managing chronic illnesses, by joining us for the 17th annual Battle of the Badges Hockey Championship! The annual game, featuring police officers, detectives, marshals, state troopers, sheriffs, department of corrections officers, firefighters, dispatch workers, EMTs, and more, will take place at Manchester’s SNHU Arena on Sunday, March 16 at 1pm. Fundraising is underway for Team Police and Team Fire, and with only a few practices left at the UNH Whittemore Arena, this year’s match-up on the ice promises to be an exciting one. The event is presented by the Elliot Perry Foundation and benefits Dartmouth Health Children’s and the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD). We are thrilled to welcome Hampstead Hospital and Residential Treatment Facility as a member of our health system! We look forward to continuing our efforts to support youth and children with the psychiatric and residential care they need.
Today we welcome Hampstead Hospital and Residential Treatment Facility as a member of our health system! As New Hampshire’s largest employer and provider of mental and behavioral health services, we will continue to strive to give youth and children the psychiatric and residential treatment services they need, while supporting those who care for them. "As a member of Dartmouth Health, Hampstead will benefit from the resources and expertise of our entire health system, including Dartmouth Health Children's, and strengthen our critical role in New Hampshire to foster and support mental health for the children and adolescents in our community,” said Joanne M. Conroy, MD, CEO and president of Dartmouth Health. Dartmouth Health and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) have officially closed on a public-private partnership, making Dartmouth Health solely responsible for the clinical leadership, patient care and operation of Hampstead Hospital and Residential Treatment Facility. “This public-private model led by Dartmouth Health creates certainty for Hampstead’s dedicated staff and the patients and families they serve,” said DHHS Commissioner Lori Weaver.

Cancer hasn't stopped patient Connor Ponce. "This disease, even though he has his limitations, it hasn't stopped him. He still lives the same life as any other kid his age. He just does it differently. Connor's living his best life." His pediatrician Geraldine Rubin, MD, Dartmouth Health Children's at Cheshire Medical Center, got him a brain scan. Angela M. Ricci, MD, Dartmouth Health Children's at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Clinics), has been their advocate in the treatment of Connor's cancer ever since. In our patient story series, Your Way Forward, we are privileged to provide an opportunity for Dartmouth Health patients to share their experiences in their own words.
