  • 🔷 The completion of WP2 underscores that the continually emerging challenges faced by Europe, stemming from both natural and man-made factors, render risk management not only legitimate but imperative. How do the European countries intend to manage these risks? 🔷 The activities completed in WP2 highlighted the significance of foundational elements that must be considered when developing tools and methodologies for Disaster Risk Management (DRM). For the project's successful completion, it is crucial to identify critical areas that need improvement and to recognize those elements that have been undervalued in relation to their importance for effective DRM tools and methodologies. 🔷 To enhance capacity, skills development, and readiness in Disaster Risk Management—encompassing prevention, effective response, and rehabilitation—WP2 identified the need for improvements in the following areas: 1. Procedures, 2. Tools, 3. Skills, and 4. Vocational Education and Training (VET). #ErasmusPlus  #VET  #EuropeanCommission  #Drmframe  #SkillsDevelopment  #CrisisManagement  #RiskAssessment  #CommunityResilience  #DisasterRecovery  #EmergencyPlanning  #EmpowermentThroughEducation  #AccessToEducation

  • ❇ In 1972, on June 5, the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment was held in Stockholm, Sweden. In honor of this day, the world celebrated its first World Environment Day in 1973. Since then, on June 5, World Environment Day has been observed across the globe to raise awareness around environmental action. This year's theme is "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience" with the slogan "Our Land. Our Future”. In today’s unpredictable world, concerns about natural hazards, human disasters and climate change are ever-present. This uncertainty often leads us to ponder numerous “what ifs” regarding the environment we live in, creating a sense of apprehension. So, how can we manage this anxiety effectively? The European Commission, in close cooperation with Member States, identified 5 goals to pursue collectively, in the field of disaster risk management, so that European citizens are safe in any scenario, both unforeseen and expected: 1. Anticipate 2. Prepare 3. Alert 4. Respond 5. Secure ❇ In this context, "DRM Frame" can play a pivotal role in the field of Disaster Risk Management (DRM). The project integrates existing scientific multi-disciplinary knowledge in the field and co-develops innovative approaches and tools for learning, training, and navigation in the field of civil protection and resilience. The project is mostly oriented to the development of skills and capacity of professionals in DRM. The project aims to provide practical, relevant, and up-to-date training opportunities for professionals working in the field, thereby enhancing their skills and capacities not only for responding to a disaster but for being prepared as well. #WorldEnvironmentDay #GenerationRestoration #Sustainability #EnvironmentalAwareness #ErasmusPlus #VET #EuropeanCommission #Drmframe #SkillsDevelopment #CrisisManagement #CommunityResilience #DisasterRecovery #EmergencyPlanning #EmpowermentThroughEducation #AccessToEducation #DRMprofessionals

  • We are delighted to announce the commencement of the primary phase of the #DRMFRAME Erasmus+ project (DRM-FRAME, Project No. 2023-1-EL01-KA220-VET-000162006). We're conducting primary research and situation analysis on DRM, emerging needs, and civil resilience resources. This phase of the project is essential in laying the groundwork for future activities and pilot trainings in Disaster Risk Management. We're reaching out to diverse stakeholders involved in DRM, including first responders, civil protection professionals, VET trainers/educators, human resources managers, volunteers, NGOs, academic institutions, local and regional authorities, and public institutions related to DRM. The aim of this concerted engagement is to glean insights crucial for our project's objectives. By tapping into the expertise and perspectives of these diverse entities, we seek to identify prevailing educational landscapes within the EU related to DRM. Additionally, we aim to uncover key methodologies essential for strategic planning and collaborative initiatives within the DRM domain. #ErasmusPlus  #VET  #EuropeanCommission  #Drmframe  #SkillsDevelopment  #CrisisManagement  #RiskAssessment  #CommunityResilience  #DisasterRecovery  #EmergencyPlanning  #EmpowermentThroughEducation  #AccessToEducation

  • 🌞 The scope of the DRM FRAME project is to enhance the capacity, skills building and preparedness in the area of Disaster Risk Management (DRM), including prevention, effective response and recovery and to promote local development opportunities. This will be achieved through the development of an interactive learning and training tool which will integrate a training curriculum in the area of DRM. The training audience is primarily composed by civil protection professionals at local, regional and national level, vocational trainers, volunteer associations, etc. 👜 The consortium, composed by Higher Education Institutions, Research Institutes and Vocational Educational Providers, will jointly create an integrated curriculum which inter alia will train professionals in the basic concepts for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and relevant policy issues, basic steps for Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment, enrichment of strategic plans for DRR and management at local level, etc. 🚀 In this framework an interactive multilingual platform will be developed with the following features: (i) an e-learning space, including the topics of the training curriculum, supported by a web-GIS platform which will allow the illustration of the evolution of scenarios at the areas of interest; (ii) a double assessment tool, which will enable the customization of the training path and the evaluation of the acquired skills; (iii) communication and networking capabilities among users. The outcome of the project will be validated by a number of external experts and during the multiplier events in all partner countries. #DRMEnhanced #Skills4DRM #DRMTrainingTool #DRMInteractive #AssessCustomizeLearn #ErasmusPlus  #VET  #EuropeanCommission  #Drmframe  #SkillsDevelopment  #CrisisManagement  #RiskAssessment  #CommunityResilience  #DisasterRecovery  #EmergencyPlanning  #EmpowermentThroughEducation  #AccessToEducation
