📶 One of the core goals of the ETAIN project is to evaluate the impact of radio-frequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) on human health and the environment and explore viable options for reducing exposure. 🔎 This research is being conducted by a team of researchers from several EU countries. One researcher, Nekane Sandoval Diez, in collaboration with colleagues from the ETAIN project and Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, has co-authored the article “Determining the relationship between mobile phone network signal strength and radiofrequency electromagnetic field exposure: protocol and pilot study to derive conversion functions.” 📲 The article presents an investigation into how mobile phones can be used to estimate exposure to RF-EMF from mobile wireless communication. ❗ As part of this study, the researchers developed an app called “5G Scientist,” which tracks signal quality on phones to potentially estimate RF-EMF exposure. Our second webinar of the project is out!!! In this second webinar, we dive deeper into the world of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields and explore how we can better understand our exposure to various types of radiation. We take an in-depth look at the app we are developing, the 5G Scientist App, alongside other tools like the Dose Calculator and the EU Exposure maps. Additionally, we discuss actions you can take individually to contribute to our scientific research and ways to protect yourself from radiation emitted by everyday devices, like your phone. Check out the scientist app here: https://lnkd.in/d2vnSMCZ https://lnkd.in/dJ66QTwV

📲 Have an Android device and want to support science? This is for you! At ETAIN, we're close to completing our 5G Scientist App—a tool that tracks your exposure to radio frequencies emitted by your phone. Over time, this app will contribute to a European radiation exposure map for 4G and 5G networks. We’d love your help and feedback to make this app the best it can be. Curious? Check it out! https://lnkd.in/d2vnSMCZ
