“We’re optimistic going into 2025. There is good momentum in the corporate sector and we’re enthusiastic about global equities,” said Gregory Calnon, CFA, our global co-head of public investing, speaking to investors at our 2024 Asia Investment Summit across Singapore and Hong Kong last week. Equity markets in India and Japan are two areas that Greg is particularly positive about in the region. The summit’s attendees also heard that fixed income continues to be an important anchor for investors to build out robust portfolios. “We are mindful that there will be more uncertainties, more volatility and more unpredictability. So allocating to credit and other spread sectors will be beneficial as the corporate sector is doing well,” Greg said. Despite the run in equities and tighter credit spreads, there is “more room to run” for these asset classes, he added.
