It seems like there’s a new, high-profile cybersecurity breach or incident every single day. And the impact of a breach is becoming increasingly expensive and harmful to the organizations involved. The government is not immune to cyber risk. In fact, the ecosystem of malicious actors that are attempting to compromise government and military networks may surpass those attacking any other group in both size and sophistication. And the ramifications of a successful cyberattack on a government network could be both immense and terrible – especially as network-centric operations and digital transformation make our government and military increasingly network-enabled and connected. It’s for this reason that every system, IT-enabled platform or solution adopted by the government is first analyzed and tested for its cyber resilience and security. And it’s for this reason that every military-focused conference, event and discussion has evolved to include at least some talk about cybersecurity. This is way we launched the GovCybersecurityHub – to act as a forum and resource to those that are responsible for steadfastly protecting our government and its networks from those that would seek to attack them in cyberspace. In this publication, we’ll highlight the new cybersecurity trends, technologies and approaches that are helping to make networks, devices and applications more secure. We’ll talk about the governance and policies that are being implemented – and that should be implemented – to keep government and citizen data safe. And we’ll even share best practices and thought leadership from security experts in the private sector that can help provide valuable insight and guidance to government readers.
