GREEN-COMP

With the end of May, we officially concluded the GREEN-COMP project. 🌿 During the year of project implementation, we have been working intensively with our Partners to advance sustainable solutions for composite materials recycling and reuse. Key activities included: ✅ Conducting mechanical and chemical recycling of specific CFRP/GFRP waste from aerospace structural components. ✅ Reusing the recycled CFRP/GFRP in thermosetting and thermoplastic polymers. ✅ Performing a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analysis. ✅ Submitting a joint research paper to a scientific journal (updates on publication to follow!). ✅ Visiting Partners in Gjøvik (ASEMlab and Global Consulting Sustainability AS) and in Warsaw (TMBK Partners Sp. z o.o., Instytut Techniczny Wojsk Lotniczych, and Noma Resins sp.zo.o.). ✅ Organizing a conference in Kielce, which gathered experts from both academia and industry to discuss sustainable approaches toward the green transition in polymeric materials. This project has been an incredible opportunity for knowledge exchange and strengthening cooperation in the field of circular economy and composite materials recycling. Time for a brief summary of our 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 “𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀” 🌱, which took place in Kielce, Poland, on May 22nd and 23rd during the 28th International Fair of Plastics and Rubber Processing PLASTPOL. 📌 It was an intense program of lectures, presentations of results, and defining research directions. In her research work, she designs and assesses the properties of polymer materials and their composites. Much of the work carried out and published so far has concerned the burning behavior of polymers and the search for new, environmentally friendly fire retardants.
