A recent Harvard Pop Center Working paper that examines how state-level political metrics relate to health outcomes across the United States is the focus of this interview with Nancy Krieger, an author on the paper. Krieger makes it clear that their work is not providing causal evidence, but observing patterns that could serve to motivate future research aimed at exploring any potential causal relationships. In Krieger's words, "We’ve identified associations that we believe provide robust evidence, not of causality, but of meaningful connections. Our findings show that the four metrics we used to measure political conservatism are all linked to worse health outcomes at the state level." https://lnkd.in/eNiQbJyu
