Today, among friends and colleagues, I unveiled my official secretary portrait. Hiding in the back of my portrait is a picture of my family – because that’s what it takes to get this work done – a family. And all 95,000 people on this HHS team have been like family to me for these four years. Thank you.

I joined Bloomberg Beta to discuss how HHS is addressing the critical labor shortages in healthcare, particularly in underserved areas, and reconciling this with economic realities for struggling Americans. I also discussed the impact of recent regulatory reforms, such as telehealth expansion and broader practice scopes for nurses, on healthcare accessibility and potential future innovations.
