Last week, Rutgers Research partnered with the Rutgers University - Camden research office to host an I-Corps Hub Northeast Region Novus program at the student center. Members of the Office for Research's Technology Transfer and New Ventures teams joined a mix of Rutgers faculty, staff, students, and alumni to discuss how researchers can shift their mindset from the technology to the people who would benefit. The Rutgers Research Technology Transfer and New Ventures teams were thrilled to re-establish and host NJInvent, a meeting of academic tech transfer and new ventures units from within the State of New Jersey, to meet and get to know new staff members, discuss current trends, and share best practices. Our senior vice president of research Michael Zwick kicked off the meeting with a welcome address, followed by presentations and discussion panels featuring executive director of New Jersey Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology Judith Sheft, NJIT associate director for Technology Transfer & Intellectual Property Sherie D., professor of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia Engineering Treena Arinzeh, and our own Deborah Perez Fernandez, Vince Smeraglia, Eusebio Pires, Ph.D, MBA, and Dan Benderly.
