Two research teams from Rutgers University were honored at the Research & Development Council of NJ annual banquet, where they received their 2024 Edison Patent Awards! G. Charles Dismukes, Anders B. Laursen, Karin Calvinho, and Martha Greenblatt earned the Industrial Processes award for their “Nickel Phosphide Catalysts for Direct Electrochemical CO2 Reduction to Hydrocarbons” patent, which is the basis for Rutgers startup RenewCO₂. Abraham Pinter and Alok Choudhary took home the Medical Diagnostics award for their “Anti-LAM and Anti-PIM6/LAM Monoclonal Antibodies for Diagnosis and Treatment of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Infections” patent. Named for Thomas Edison, the Edison Patent Awards are now in their 45th year, include 14 categories, and are presented annually by the RDNJ to recognize and highlight the “broad array of research conducted in the state.” Congratulations to both teams from all of us at the Office for Research!
