211 albums claimed within the first 48 hours. Even before the first post-event outreach was sent. 1,343 branded and sponsored photos downloaded and shared to attendees’ social networks, making them the #1 marketing channel for exhibitors. 18 demo meetings scheduled for next week with the Kampfire sales team. 3 new customers are already preparing to use Kampfire at their events next week. Surprisingly, all of them are in Germany. This is what post-event marketing should look like. We’re absolutely drunk on our own champagne!
After killing it in both Barcelona and London (more about that next week), our team is off to New York tomorrow for our next event with Meeting Professionals International (Greater New York chapter). We recently partnered with Club Ichi on their two-day boat trip retreat, using Kampfire technology to capture and share the event experience with their members. As we expand into the travel industry, their feedback has been invaluable in helping us fine-tune our product. Here’s what we learned: Kampfire's strength lies in its ability to manage and curate event photos, allowing users to easily find the images that matter most - those they appear in. This feature shines at large conferences or events with multiple photographers, where thousands of photos are often taken. As Club Ichi noted, our AI-first approach lets attendees access their personalized images without having to scroll through unrelated photos. However, for highly crowdsourced events where everyone wants access to all images - like their fully immersive yacht experience - the need to manually approve each attendee-uploaded image became overwhelming. While we didn’t fully meet this need, the experience has equipped us with insights to improve. Here’s what we’re doing about it: 1. Feature Streamlining: We're aligning contributor and filtering options to remove redundancies and improve the overall photo-sharing experience. This will make it easier for attendees to access photos in real-time at crowd-sourced events, with enhanced control over opt-out options. 2. Automated Photo Approvals: We’re refining our approval options, enabling automatic approval when multiple people are uploading photos at the same time - perfect for dynamic, crowd-inclusive environments like travel experiences. We have thousands of photos from IMEX, and we can't wait to share them with your leads! As SMB exhibitors, you’ve probably captured at least 100 leads, of which 50 will turn out to be qualified. 20 will respond to your post-event outreach, and ultimately, 5-10 will become customers. Our exhibition team didn’t initially agree with my decision (just a regular Wednesday in the office) I asked them to focus primarily on trade shows where our competitors are also present, as it went against their business instincts. Let me explain. Post-event engagement solutions are still not a 'thing', yet. Surprisingly, even though corporate planners overlook $10 billion in post-event business opportunities (check one of Julius Solaris’s recent posts and the Forrester 2023 report), they still allocate more than 95% of their budget to pre-event marketing endeavors. For planners to realize there are so many opportunities they can seize for just a fraction of their budget, these solutions need to be visible and enter their comprehension zone. It’s like how a row of shoe stores sits next to each other on Main Street... What would you do for your exhibiting strategy? There are some great solutions out there, and I’m pleased they’re starting to gain recognition in the industry. The more solutions like Kampfire attend conventions for event planners and marketers, the better visibility and validation for post-event marketing solutions.
