🔑 Sitting outside York station in his car at 11pm on a winter night, Arif Khalfe waits patiently for the London train to roll in. He’s not coming to the aid of family member in need of a lift. Instead, he’s there to collect his new tenants who have flown in from Nepal. As part of his free welcome service, he’ll spend the next 24 hours helping them settle in, shop for food and set up a bank account so they can begin their new lives in the UK. Bad memories of how landlords treated him during his university years have made Khalfe, 44, determined to give his student tenants a better experience. “I had bad landlords hunting for reasons to deduct money from my deposit,” says Khalfe. “I’m not interested in that. I want to sleep at night and I want to be fair and equal. I get satisfaction from providing a service that I wish someone had provided for me.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/e7yU-Kez
