📢𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 & 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻! Today, Civitates is officially launching its open call to support organizations working to create safer, more inclusive, and trustworthy online spaces (social media platforms, search engines etc) by improving the enforcement of tech regulations at the national level. 🌍 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆? We welcome applications from organisations working in Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Romania, and the Netherlands. Eligible organizations can request up to €160,000 in core funding for two years. 🗓 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀: The deadline to submit concept notes is 𝟭𝟰 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝟭𝟭:𝟯𝟬 𝗣𝗠 (𝗖𝗘𝗧). Applications will be reviewed in two phases, starting with a concise concept note and preliminary budget. Esas reflexiones, dieron vida a este proyecto hermoso que llevamos adelante desde Ashoka Cono Sur donde mapeamos, acompañamos y reforzamos técnicamente a iniciativas de toda la región que comenzaban a utilizar estas herramientas para lograr mayor impacto. El final es la clave: Los proyectos compartirán finalmente con las principales compañías cómo y para qué usan la tecnología que ella crean: aprendizajes, hallazgos, necesidades y sus ideas de cómo resolver los problemas más urgentes. How do you create legislation to control developments and at the same time encourage them? How do you develop laws for such a gigantic phenomenon that is constantly moving, evolving, even for products and services that do not yet exist? That is what governments that are taking the first steps in regulatory frameworks for AI around the world are trying to do. Meanwhile, in the middle of arguments about regulations and threats, these technologies are also being used by social entrepreneurs seeking to enhance their social impact. What happens when networks of committed journalists responsibly leverage AI to combat corruption worldwide?
