When evaluating events for positive cultures, here’s the key: Watch the podcast: https://lnkd.in/eGBiFS38 📅 The event date is determined by the symptom timing relative to the positive culture. ➡️ We look 3 days before and 3 days after the positive culture to define our 7-day window. ✅ If symptoms occur before the positive culture ➡️ The symptom date = event date. ✅ If symptoms occur after the positive culture ➡️ The positive culture date = event date. 📊 Staying precise helps us maintain accuracy in reporting and patient care! 🏥 🔗 Follow NGHS CME for more insights on medical event evaluations and best practices! #MedicalEducation #CME #PositiveCulture #PatientCare #HealthcareProfessionals #NGHSCME #MedicalTraining #Healthcare

Full presentation: https://lnkd.in/eexH4gJR The Benelux countries (🇧🇪 Belgium, 🇳🇱 Netherlands, 🇱🇺 Luxembourg) have allowed physician-assisted suicide since 2001 for individuals experiencing intolerable suffering, including psychiatric patients under specific criteria. Canada 🇨🇦 enacted similar legislation in 2016, permitting euthanasia for individuals with a "reasonably foreseeable" death—a term that remains undefined. In the United States 🇺🇸, euthanasia remains prohibited by law. These global approaches raise important ethical and medical discussions that continue to shape the field of healthcare. 💬 Mark Komrad M.D. #NGHS #CME #MedicalEthics #GlobalHealth #EuthanasiaLaws
