The role involves working with large datasets, collaborating with government bodies, and ensuring compliance with public health regulations. This is a fixed term (3 year) apprenticeship post which will provide support to a range of public health programmes, with six hours per week spent participating in formal learning. The Health & Care Intelligence Specialist Level 7 apprenticeship is a developmental route for job roles within the core Public Health workforce that enables the apprentice, on successful completion, to achieve a Masters-level qualification. The apprenticeship is for junior professionals who study the health of populations, plan, commission, manage, deliver, monitor and evaluate health and social care polices and services. The apprenticeship supports the career progression of analysts into a position to be able to lead and oversee analyst teams. Built from the foundations of the National Competency Framework for data professionals, the academy is the next step on delivering on our vision, "Health and Care is recognised as being one of the best places to work as a data professional." As the NCF provides the career pipelines for people to follow, the Data and Analytics academy provides the means to do so. Focusing on free to access, levy, subscriber or centrally funded training, mapped to the competencies and practitioner levels of the NCF. The academy has 4 pillars making up its cornerstones: New Entry Talent - To raise the awareness of data and analytics as a career in school age children, diversify our entry pipeline, and support all new talent to the NHS to upskill on Health and Care knowledge. Upskilling - To support the core competencies and specialist technical skills of our existing 13k workforce through the use of apprenticeships and software specific certifications. Data Leadership - To build the data leaders of the future. As data and analytics roles continue to gain a senior presence in organisations, we need to be building the capability within the data workforce to lead our own. Developing the data specific leadership skills that cannot be taught through more generic leadership programmes. Data literacy and confidence - To bring the wider workforce on the data revolution, providing them a means to grow their understanding of and confidence in using data for day to day tasks and decision making.
