During the days following the announcement of Agile Alliance joining PMI, I saw comments about the need for the profession to adapt to AI. Check this out: https://lnkd.in/eFd3EgYe Although I can’t agree more, of course, the comments suggested that many still do not know about the many resources that PMI has been developing to make sure our profession adjusts to the impact of AI, both on how we work, but also on the type of projects we work on. PMI has a simple goal for our profession, through our PMIxAI initiative: Leading the AI transformation of project work, and leading the AI transformation projects. AI is our opportunity to be a trailblazing profession in AI adoption and AI transformation. All AI content, elearning, guides, PMI Infinity (our AI copilot platform) are entirely free for our members, and some are for everyone. It’s here: https://lnkd.in/eFd3EgYe. Please share. What a great way to start 2025: I am thrilled to announce that Agile Alliance has joined PMI! Agile Alliance, founded in 2001 by some of the original authors of the Manifesto for Agile Software Development, is now entering a transformative new phase of global growth and influence. This agreement represents a bold step forward for both Agile Alliance and PMI. Together, as global leaders in the project and agile communities, we will unlock even greater opportunities for professionals worldwide to deliver value through projects, product development, and organizational transformations. We are fully committed to ensuring a seamless transition. Teresa Foster, CAE, Managing Director of Agile Alliance, and her team will transition to PMI. Agile Alliance, now operating as PMI Agile Alliance, will maintain its membership structure and elected Board. True to its mission and values, it will continue to champion agility and the values and principles of the manifesto. Agile Alliance members will retain access to the resources, events, and connections they have always valued, now further enriched by PMI’s extensive global reach and opportunities. At the same time, PMI members will gain access to Agile Alliance’s rich community-generated resources, creating new avenues for collaboration, learning, and innovation. I am incredibly proud of this move. The Agile movement has reshaped software and product development and has profoundly impacted project management, extending its influence far beyond its origins. Effective project management requires the mastery of multiple methodologies, thoughtfully applied and/or combined to meet the specific needs and context of a project. PMI and Agile Alliance have long collaborated, including through the Agile Practice Guide, and this partnership is a natural evolution. As Agile Alliance sought to expand its global impact, PMI emerged as the ideal partner to provide the resources and platform for this new chapter. Together, we will advance the understanding and application of Agile and agility, inspire diverse thinking, and empower professionals to achieve unparalleled project success. This is a moment to celebrate and a foundation for even greater accomplishments ahead! I want to thank Margareth Fabíola S. Carneiro, PhD, member of the Agile Alliance Board, with whom we had our first talks about this move at the Congresso Brasileiro de Gestão de Projetos e Liderança in Rio de Janeiro in April 2024; Brian Button, Chair of Agile Alliance; the Agile Alliance Board of Directors; Teresa Foster, CAE, Agile Alliance Executive Director; and, of course, the PMI team - all of whom worked hard until New Year's Eve to make this operation possible and sign the agreement by the deadline we had set. I also want to warmly thank the PMI Board for their support, as always. Project Management Institute #Agile #projectmanagement #leadership
