Colleen and our team are doing excellent work!
So many of you have visited and are excited about what we are doing to change the face of tech in WNY. Here's a brief update. We, Per Scholas Buffalo, launched on October 15 and we are about halfway through the training program (graduation is January 24, 2025). These students will be ready for entry level IT positions (Help Desk, IT support, Comp TIA A+ Cert, Google IT support, etc) . A few students started interviewing already and the first job offer came in today! A prominent tech business commented to me that they are impressed with our students and they have started the interview process with several. We don't just train tech, we spend 20% of the class on soft skills (resume, interviewing skills, job readiness skills, etc). We have literally just begun.

👋 Meet our IT Support Technical Instructor, SYED MAHMOOD! Syed has an IT and Business Administration background and a passion for teaching. He specializes in simplifying complex concepts to make learning approachable for everyone. Syed believes that sharing technical knowledge creates lasting opportunities for personal and professional growth and is excited to help learners develop the essential skills that set them on a path toward rewarding careers in IT. Outside the classroom, Syed enjoys spending time in nature, teaching technical skills to kids and neighbors in his home lab, exploring multilingual poetry and philosophy, and diving into scientific publications.
