🌍 Highlights from the Towards Zero Emissions Synergies Workshop 🚢💡 💫 Earlier today, SAFeCRAFT's Towards Zero Emissions Synergies Workshop, organized by WEGEMT and hosted by Instituto Superior Técnico, brought together seven EU-funded projects, over 60 in-person participants and 35 online attendees from diverse sectors. This hybrid event marked a pivotal step toward fostering #collaboration and #innovation for a #sustainable #maritime future. ⚓ 💼 The workshop was a resounding success, featuring engaging discussions and insightful exchanges on driving #synergies for zero-emission innovation. 🌟 Breaking new ground in sustainable shipping! 🌍 Thrilled to share that Professor Peilin Zhou from University of Strathclyde introduced our SAFeCRAFT Project at the Europe-Korea Conference on Science and Technology 2024 (#EKC2024) in Coventry, UK! 🚢 SAFeCRAFT is dedicated to researching #decarbonization #fuels for #waterborne #transport, aiming to revolutionize the maritime industry over the next 4 years. While we are just getting started, the response to our vision and goals has been incredible. ♻️ 🌿 🎯 Professor Zhou’s presentation, titled “Research and Development of Decarbonisation Fuels’ Application for Waterborne Transport”, outlined our roadmap and the #innovative work ahead. The audience was eager to learn more as we dive deeper into our research and its potential impact on the #shipping #industry. ⚓ 👥 The conference, hosted by the Korean Scientists and Engineers Association in the UK (#KSEAUK) alongside #KOFST and other European Korean science associations, provided an amazing platform to connect with global thought leaders in #science and #technology. 🚀 What’s next for SAFeCRAFT? 🌍 Advancing Sustainable Shipping with Digital Innovation! 🚢 👏 We are excited to share that the University of Strathclyde is leading Task 5.3 in developing a #digital #model for #assessing the #performance and #environmental #impacts of Sustainable Alternative Fuels (#SAFs). 🛠️ 🔋 🔍 🎯 This custom-built model will evaluate key factors like system construction #costs, #emissions, #operational conditions, and #lifespan, all aligned with project #KPIs.
