National #WAHN established the #WAHNderful Woman of the Year award as a way to honor founders Ann Cone and Richelle Patton and to acknowledge and celebrate their dedication to uplifting and supporting woman in the affordable housing industry. Ann and Richelle’s commitment to bringing women together to support, encourage, and network, created a path for women in the affordable housing industry and facilitated introductions. #SCWAHN is accepting nominations for South Carolina’s WAHNderful Woman of the Year. If you know a WAHNderful Woman who is: (1) either based in South Carolina or regularly works in the affordable housing industry in South Carolina and (2) is dedicated to uplifting and supporting women in the affordable housing industry, please nominate her today. Specific examples and details highlighting the nominee’s contributions will help the selection committee understand the nominee’s impact. Hard to believe #2024 has flown by. #SCWAHN had another eventful year. We successfully launched our "Getting to Know..." series of hot topics in the affordable housing industry led by knowledgeable panels. Our website had another wonderful update. We added some more board members. As we look forward to #2025, we recognize the need to add even more members to our beautiful board of #diversified #women and create sub-committees to usher in growth and expansion. We also are looking to fill several positions on our board that are becoming vacant. Below is a list of positions needing to be filled. Here at #SCWAHN, we are very familiar with what financial donations can do for our nonprofit organization. Every penny we receive goes back into the organization: paying bills, dues, insurance, events, merchandise, etc. But on this #GivingTuesday, in the true spirit of charity, generosity, and collaboration, consider other means of donation that do not cost money. 1. Your Knowledge - You never know what all you can contribute to our organization. Your skills, experience, knowledge can be a true asset. 2. Your Time - We all know the saying goes, "Time is Money." And while that statement is true in most areas of our lives, when volunteering your time to help an organization you believe in and want to succeed, your time ends up being priceless, invaluable, and appreciated. 3. Your Network - You know so many people and your platform can be used to share and spread the word about charities and nonprofits. Repost, like, and follow to help.
