A month ago, I had the privilege of attending ATCE 2024 in New Orleans ⚜️, USA 🇺🇸, where my teammates Abdul-Malik Al-Hashami, Oluwafunto Sofidiya, and I represented Heriot-Watt University in the PetroBowl competition. Although we lost in the quarter-finals against the University of Texas, we made lasting connections, broadened our industry knowledge, and, most importantly, felt proud to have come this far. In conjunction with the competition, we explored the exhibition floor and attended technical sessions. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with industry professionals, reunite with friends and professors from Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering at University of Oklahoma, and learn about the latest cutting-edge technologies and advancements in the ever-evolving oil and gas industry. Beyond the Conference, I also had an amazing time immersing myself in the vibrant Cajun culture of New Orleans, checked San Francisco off my list as the last major American city I wanted to visit, and visited my second home, University of Oklahoma. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Student Chapter - Heriot-Watt University and Petroleum Development Oman for making this extraordinary experience possible. I had the incredible opportunity to attend the ATCE 2024 conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, in The US 🇺🇸, representing Heriot-Watt University in the Petrobowl competition. Our team fought hard and made it to the quarter-finals, but unfortunately, we didn't make it further. Nonetheless, it was an honor to compete alongside my amazing teammates Mohamed Al Balushi and Oluwafunto Sofidiya whose dedication and effort were outstanding. Beyond the competition, I had the chance to explore the exhibition, connect with professionals from the petroleum industry, and learn about the latest technologies and innovations shaping our field. I also had the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of New Orleans!
