🚀 AI at the service of recycling & recovery At the AI Summit in Paris, Claire MATHIEU, Head of Data & AI at SUEZ, presented Autodiag®, the first waste quality monitoring tool in France! 🔎 Today, 20% to 30% of the waste collected arrives at the centre with defects. To improve the quality of the flows, SUEZ has developed this intelligent solution, which uses a camera installed directly on the table to analyse the waste in real time. Using visual data from our 36 selective collection centres in France, our algorithms are enriched with a huge database of waste images, multiplying the tests and improving the accuracy of Autodiag®. The concrete benefits? 🔸More accurate and automated characterisation 🔸Improved compliance of recycled materials 🔸Improved purity of streams, essential for optimising their recovery 🔸Proactive detection of line failures This technology, which will soon be available for paper, cardboard and plastic film, provides an effective response to the challenges of recycling and the circular economy, complementing the essential work carried out by operators. #AIActionSummit

  • Leading the future of wastewater innovation 💧 Did you know that SUEZ is at the forefront of wastewater innovation, pioneering the treatment of PFAS and micropollutants in full compliance with the new EU Urban Wastewater Directive? In Denmark, the groundbreaking CERO MP project involves upgrading the Køge-Egnens wastewater treatment plant to reduce pharmaceutical residues and industrial chemicals by more than 80% (Predicted Non-Effective Concentration) and PFOS levels by around 40%. Supported by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency and funded by the Environmental Technology Development and Demonstration Programme, the project is fully in line with the new EU Urban Wastewater Directive. Construction is scheduled to start in January 2025, with full-operation expected by the end of 2026. How will SUEZ achieve those goals? ➡️ Innovative fourth stage of treatment, ➡️ Combination of integrated ozonation (SUEZ’s Bio3 solution) and activated carbon filtration (SUEZ’s Carbablue® Up technology) equipped with 3D fluorescence Why is this project groundbreaking? It represents a significant milestone for SUEZ globally, as it marks the first-ever full-scale implementation of both the integrated ozonation and activated carbon filtration. Even more groundbreaking is the combined application of these two solutions, making it the first reference in the world for this innovative dual approach. This pioneering large-scale project, in collaboration with Envidan Denmark, KLAR Forsyning A/S and Aalborg Universitet demonstrates how advanced technologies can ensure cleanwater for local communities while optimising operating costs and minimising environmental impact.

  • Looking back at the WWT conference 💧 Last week Roseline Klein, Head of Product Management - AQUADVANCED® at SUEZ Digital Solutions, spoke at the WWT conference about smart urban drainage. She presented the EU funded LIFE RUBIES project, in which SUEZ is actively involved. Currently deployed in two large European cities; AQUADVANCED® Urban Drainage helps to control wastewater systems and enhance river health. Importantly the LIFE RUBIES programme introduced the concept of quality of wastewater discharges and prioritising the treatment of the most polluted. Designed for minimising Combined Sewage Overflow (CSO) spills, and for detecting and avoiding blockages and flooding in sewer networks, the solution improves flood prevention, bathing water quality and environmental protection. #WWTWastewater2025
