TEAMS: Travel, Events and Management in Sports, is the world’s leading conference and expo for the sports-event industry. Presented by SportsTravel, and hosted by Visit Anaheim, TEAMS ’25 will be held October 13–16, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Launched in 1998, TEAMS attracts more than 1,000 attendees including CEOs, executive directors and event managers from sports organizations as well as representatives from sports commissions and convention bureaus, corporate sponsors, event suppliers and other hospitality industry opinion leaders. At this year’s TEAMS Conference & Expo, Indianapolis was announced as the winner of Best Host City at the SportsTravel Awards. The TEAMS Europe team led by the Northstar Meetings Group Sports Division's Jason Gewirtz, Nicole Goddeyne, SDLT and Fiona Chung have completed a successful week in Lausanne, Zurich and Athens meeting with international federations and attending the European Running Business Conference and the Athens Marathon. The Authentic. We learned valuable information about the latest trends in host city relationships and made some wonderful new relationships with event organizers eager to take part in our model of business development. Some of our takeaways: International federations are looking to new models in the ways they select host cities. Relationships are key to the success of long-term partnerships in the sports industry. Global sports organizations are interested in bringing their events to new markets. The running industry, in particular, is poised for growth with increases across the board in participation. Running events are some of the strongest drivers of travel in the sports-related travel industry. The Day 4 Recap of TEAMS '24, sponsored by Visit Albuquerque, features four informative panels on the last day of our incredible event in Anaheim. The day kicked off with the Mississippi Mornings fitness session, and then transitioned into the main ballroom for a full slate of educational sessions. Before the General Closing Session, featuring Geoff Freeman and John David, the inaugural transfer of the TEAMS flag took place, as we say farewell to Anaheim and look forward to TEAMS '25 with the Greater Columbus Sports Commission. The day was capped with the Closing Party at Splitsville in Downtown Disney, where event organizers took home a total of $5,000 in cash prizes.
The final day of TEAMS '24 featured four informative sessions that covered many topics, including women's sports in the growing spotlight, the decade ahead in sports related travel, women's collegiate sports working toward NCAA championship sanctioning and Olympic sports that are ready for their showcase in 2028. Speakers included John David, Geoff Freeman, Kim Clearkin, Fara Gorsi, Scott Hallenbeck, Marc Norman, McKenzie Coan, Amit Elor, Lala Ismailova, Gary Abbott, amy rusert and Amy Haney.
The TEAMS ’31 Conference & Expo will be held October 20–23, 2031, at the Iowa Events Center in downtown Catch Des Moines and also marks the first time the city has hosted the event. The TEAMS ’30 Conference & Expo will be held October 14–17, 2030, at the Knoxville Convention Center and will mark the first time the city has hosted the event.
