We honored a monumental milestone: the 50th anniversary of the cure for testicular cancer, pioneered by the cancer center’s Larry Einhorn, MD, right here at Indiana University. This groundbreaking discovery has saved at least 400,000 lives and counting. The celebration brought together survivors like Lance Armstrong, IU colleagues past and present, and donors from around the globe to reflect on the legacy of this life-changing achievement. The Indiana University Board of Trustees has approved the Indiana University School of Medicine becoming an anchor organization for the newly formed Indy Health District, a nonprofit created in response to census data showing that residents within its boundaries have a much lower life expectancy compared to other parts of the Indianapolis metro area.
