Another country, another EXPO event! On 23 November, #EXPO2024 hosted its final satellite event in #Georgia, bringing together 150 amazing women entrepreneurs, including women refugees from Ukraine and beyond, to showcase their incredible creations! ✨ 🎁 The event featured a wide variety of products—delicious food, wine, handmade crafts, décor, toys, beauty products, New Year decorations, and so much more. 🍃 This year, sustainability took the spotlight with a special green corner dedicated to eco-friendly businesses. Visitors also had the chance to support social enterprises, making their purchases even more meaningful. Representatives of women-led organizations, humanitarian practitioners, and gender advocates from Poland, Slovakia, Moldova, Romania, and Georgia—countries at the forefront of receiving refugees from the war in Ukraine—gathered for a two-day Expert Group Meeting in Warsaw, Poland. As we near the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration, gender equality remains at the heart of global efforts for peace, security, and sustainable development. Through various panels, practical group work, and active discussions, the participants tackled urgent challenges and came up with recommendations for strengthening gender-transformative humanitarian response frameworks. Key focus areas of the Expert Group Meeting: ● Elevating human security and intersectionality in policy frameworks. ● Preparing for the B+30 and UNSCR 1325+25 global reviews in 2025. ● Building a more inclusive and secure future for all.
