We are thrilled to see our Visa Ready for Government Disbursements partner, Episode Six (E6), expanding their impact through a new collaboration with secupay AG. E6 is playing a crucial role in providing the technical capabilities needed to enable access to financial support for asylum seekers in Germany. This partnership will help distribute government aid to around 1 million people over the next four years.   The Visa Ready for Government Disbursements program is a collaborative initiative that certifies partners capable of serving government disbursement opportunities. It brings together different ecosystem players to build efficient, innovative, and well-designed programs. By working with partners like Episode Six, we can ensure that government and humanitarian aid reaches those who need it most, effectively and securely.

The public purchasing card, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, is reinventing itself to meet the needs of an increasingly digital economy. Thanks to the new solution from eZyness (a subsidiary of La Banque Postale), public organisations can now simplify and secure purchasing processes, optimise and control their expenses, while also democratising access to public purchasing and ensuring fast and reliable supplier payments. In developing nations, MSEs (micro and small enterprises) are a major source of employment and economic growth, and #DigitalPayments can have wide-ranging impacts. A new report from ODI Global and Visa explores how digital finance and payments can promote the economic empowerment and competitiveness of MSEs, and addresses potential challenges in the shift to digital. With findings from 109 national strategies and in-depth case studies of #SouthAfrica and #Colombia, the study identifies five key recommendations for governments: 1. Clear identification of where and how to expand digital payment access 2. Effective partnerships to create a strong national payments ecosystem 3. Meaningfully consulting and engaging with MSEs 4. Active coordination of institutions and capabilities 5. Visa and the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) have signed an agreement of collaboration in support of the Costa Rican tourism sector, using insights, trends, and detailed information that will be provided to ICT by Visa through its government data solution. William Rodríguez, Costa Rica’s Minister of Tourism, stated that the agreement with Visa will help strengthen the quality of data and analysis to form national promotional strategies and to make them more effective in attracting prospective visitors from top markets.
