Join us for an insightful webinar exploring how mass photometry can be used to assess the stability of adeno-associated virus (AAV) preparations. Stability is critical to AAV applications, and by using mass photometry, we can quickly and accurately study AAV capsid integrity and genomic release under thermal stress. 📅 Date: December 5th, 2024 🕒 Time: 11:00 AM ET 📍 Location: Online In this session, we’ll cover innovative techniques for evaluating the impact of heat on both empty and genome-filled AAV particles, with findings that reveal unique AAV-specific behaviours during thermal stress. You’ll see how a heat-stable DNA plasmid was used as an internal standard to quantify changes in AAV stability, including insights into capsid aggregation and genome-bound capsid disintegration. Piezoelectric-induced shocks transform indium selenide from crystalline to glassy phase. Using aberration-corrected electron microscopy, an India-US team of materials scientists has discovered that a 2D ferroelectric material, indium selenide, can 'shock' itself to transform from a crystalline to glassy phase using very low power. Such a phase change lies at the heart of memory storage in CDs and computer RAMs, and consumes a billion times less power than the laser-triggered melt-quench process used to convert crystal to glass when recording data. 'DEEPscope' captures large-scale neural activity and structural details at single-cell resolution deep within the brain. Researchers at Cornell, US, led by Professor Chris Xu, have combined two-photon and three-photon microscopy to create DEEPscope - Dual Excitation with Adaptive Excitation Polygon-Scanning Multiphoton Microscope. The method can capture large-scale neural activity and structural details, at single-cell resolution, deep within the brain.
