About us

The Wellness Workdays Dietetic Internship (WWDI) program offers a unique distance education-based program, designed to meet the individual needs and interests of a group of dynamic, inspiring individuals seeking to become Registered Dietitians with a focus on wellness, health promotion and disease prevention. The WWDI program allows interns to complete their supervised practice requirements in their local settings using sites and preceptors of their choice. Part-time and full-time options are available. Prospective interns are required to find qualified preceptors in the areas of clinical nutrition (400 hours), long-term care (80 hours), food service management (200 hours), community nutrition (240 hours), elective (40 hours) and WWDI concentration (240 hours) to complete their requirements. Note these are new recommendations according to 2020 ACEND guidelines. Rotations may now be completed using distance learning.

  • Are you applying to dietetic internships for 2025? Here are 5 things to look for in a DI Program! 1. Staff Support. It’s important to know there is someone in your corner. Is there a DI advisor, alumni mentor, or team member you can reach out to for help, support, and advice during the internship? 2. Concentration or Elective Rotations. It’s advantageous if you are able to gain experience in areas of dietetics you’re most interested in. If the program offers concentrations, do any of them align with your career goals? Or do you have the opportunity to select where you complete rotations or an elective rotation? 3. Combined Masters-DI Options. It’s great to have options. For those who need a master’s degree, is your program affiliated with any graduate programs? Or can you complete your degree with the school of your choice? 4. Flexibility. It’s crucial to find a program that fits with your lifestyle. Does the program allow part-time options? Is relocation required? 5. RDN Exam Prep. It’s an added bonus if your program helps you prepare for the RDN exam. Do they provide any study materials, tutoring, webinars or classes? Wellness Workdays DI offers all of these and more! Our team will make sure you secure each rotation so you can feel confident you will meet your career goals. • Preparing for the RDN exam? Here are 3 tips from WWDI: 1. Create a detailed, realistic schedule. Identify the amount of hours you'll spend, topics you'll review, and ways you'll study (e.g., reading, creating flashcards, completing practice questions). A schedule helps keep you on track and identifies a clear end point to your studying for the day. Be sure to include a rest day, too, to give yourself a break! 2. Take in the information in various formats. Read through study guides and notes, listen to podcasts (like RD Exam Made Easy), view webinars, and quiz yourself on practice questions. Taking in the information in different ways or the way that works best for your learning will help it stick. 3. Try active studying. Instead of just reading through material or listening to a webinar, take notes, make flash cards, and/or create an outline of the material. You can even create a presentation or handout on topics you'd like to spend a little more time on. Putting the information in your own words is a great way to learn.
