Our Values
We make products people love
We determine and understand our target customer and their needs so that we can delight them with clear value propositions and easy-to-use products. Our editorial provides the right information and our UX is straightforward and clear. If we are focused first on providing value to our customers, we are confident that the revenue will follow: Money follows value.
We focus on “needle movers”
We focus on the few things that will make a difference and we are efficient in our work.
We test, wherever possible, with speed and efficiency
We try to creatively test the hypothesis of a feature before building it. We are always trying new innovations and we seek to validate the most important assumptions as quickly and efficiently as possible through MVP, prototyping, surveys, polls, ads, etc. You can’t score if you don’t shoot, so we seek a large number of well-considered “shots on goal.” The LTK Data/Time chart is our guide.
We work hard to achieve results, and we seek to win
Business is hard and the world is very competitive. You don’t survive if you aren’t competitive, so we work hard and play to win. That said, your well-being is very important to us: we care about you and your family. We are flexible: If you need to take an hour or two in the middle of the day to take your child to the doctor, or because you need a yoga workout, you are encouraged to do it.
We grant a lot of responsibility
This helps us keep as few layers of management as possible, and it’s more fun for everyone involved. A related corollary is that we don’t babysit. Everyone is expected to take ownership of their work, as it represents who we are as individuals and as a company. Targets are clear and everyone has the responsibility of achieving the expected results.
We work collaboratively in teams
We invite diverse perspectives and ideas and listen intentionally and respectfully. We avoid being defensive, are empathetic, and seek to understand what others are communicating. Everyone gets a voice, but when it’s time for a decision, not everyone gets a vote. We don’t do politics and we assume that everyone has good intentions. We understand that effective collaboration includes honest and direct feedback.
We embrace failure and celebrate success
While we work hard to ensure success, we know that many of our initiatives won’t work out. We don’t fight that, but rather embrace it so that we can move on rapidly to success. When we do succeed, we celebrate it.
We innovate, invent and experiment
We always find ways to simplify. We are externally aware, look for new ideas from everywhere, and are not limited by “not invented here”. We seek to cannibalize our products before our competition does.
We prioritize speed
Our competitors are not standing still, so we understand the importance of getting our customers meaningful value quickly. We spend time upfront seeking ways to accelerate the time to market. We understand that speed can carry additional risk. We accept that risk though seek to understand it and minimize it where possible.
We measure the impact of our work, and data rules
Ultimately, the data doesn’t lie and so we trust it more than our preconceived notions and opinions. We know what key performance indicators (KPIs) determine the success of a project and we make sure we watch them very closely.
We ARE ALWAYS LEARNING
We love to learn, we teach ourselves, take outside courses and learn from our colleagues. We are passionate about our area of expertise and always seeking to learn and understand the state of the art practices. We are open and energized by feedback and input both from our colleagues and customers. We are not satisfied until we are performing at the top of our craft.
We are kind and respectful of one another
Any bias whatsoever based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, or politics is unacceptable. We challenge ideas but keep it professional. We put a very high value on honesty, integrity, civility, and character. If we see behavior that is contrary to our values, we seek to provide professional but direct real-time feedback in order to help our team members grow and succeed. We agree that it is kinder to speak to each other, than about each other. Our communications are accurate, transparent, abundant, and respectful in tone. We seek a fun and friendly environment.
We embrace the unknown
We are humble and don’t pretend to know all the answers but are committed to getting them as fast and as efficiently as possible. Since we embrace that we don’t know, we seek to try as many solutions as possible and to do so as quickly as possible.
