Topics
The Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment brings together international expertise from a wide range of disciplines, including economics, finance, geography, the environment, international development and the political economy. This expertise enables us to produce globally impactful, policy-relevant research and analysis. Our work is divided across the following five broad topics.
Climate change impacts and resilience
How will climate change affect human lives and what measures can we take to prepare for and adjust to climate impacts, today and in the future?
Cutting emissions
New laws, policies and practices are required to facilitate the reduction of emissions, particularly in the sectors of energy, transport, industry and agriculture.
Financing a better future
Finance is required to facilitate the transition to a sustainable and low-carbon economy and to support efforts to adapt to the impacts of climate change.
Global action
International institutions, world leaders, business, NGOs and activists all have a role to play in helping to shape the agreements, policies and practices necessary to tackle climate change.
Protecting the environment
Our planet, its natural resources and rich biodiversity face critical challenges that must be addressed to secure a healthier, more sustainable future.
