Music legends the Rolling Stones are set to release a new album for the first time in nearly 20 years. Hackney Diamonds will feature their first original tracks since 2005.

And the rockers will be followed every step of the way by a documentary team behind The Kardashians which airs on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus in the UK. The album is set to include 12 tracks with fans of the group, who formed in the 1960s, eagerly awaiting its arrival.

The documentary film exploring the album's production will feature band members Sir Mick Jagger, 80, Keith Richards, 79, and 76-year-old Ronnie Wood. Drummer Charlie Watts passed away back in 2021 - and the trio are said to include nods to him in the documentary.

In August, Keith posted a picture of himself and Charlie and shared a quote he penned back in 2021. He captioned the post on Instagram : "Charlie Watts was my bed. I could lay on there, and I know that not only would I have a good sleep, but I’d wake up and it’d still be rocking' (2021). Miss you, Charlie."

The film may include emotional scenes as Fulwell 73 - the team who make The Kardashians - are behind it. Fans can look forward to getting to know the remaining members of the band on a more intimate level as it charts their new music.

Hits including Paint It Black, Satisfaction and Jumpin' Jack Flash have helped to make the band a household name. They have garnered eight number one singles and 12 number one albums throughout their 60-year career.

"Stones fans are in for a treat as they’re not only getting a new album, but a documentary film too," a source told The Sun. "It will give followers an intimate and candid look at Mick, Keith and Ronnie as they work their magic in the studio, including the banter between them."

They added: "It includes scenes from their big press event at the Hackney Empire too, where they premiered the video for Angry with Sydney Sweeney."

The hotly-anticipated album is set to be released on October 20. One of the songs - Sweet Sounds of Heaven - has a run time of seven minutes and 22 seconds. Not only that, but the band teamed up with legendary Stevie wonder and pop superstar Lady Gaga on the track.

A promo for the album on the band's official website says: "Hackney Diamonds, the hugely anticipated new album by The Rolling Stones, is released on October 20th on Polydor Records. Following the release of 2016's Grammy Award winning Blue & Lonesome, which featured brilliant versions of blues tracks that helped shape their sound, Hackney Diamonds marks the band’s first studio album of original material since 2005's A Bigger Bang."

Fans can pre-order the album on the Rolling Stone's website for £11.99. Keepsakes including a £71.99 set of two vinyls and a picture disk are also up for grabs.
