How It Works
In the base game, sticky grenades are a type of grenade that stick to a surface, then blow up shortly after. They're mostly unused because this doesn't differentiate them that much from regular grenades, despite being more expensive to craft.
This mod changes them into throwable proximity mines. They will no longer detonate automatically, instead they activate when an enemy in combat with the player gets close enough to them.
This greatly increases their utility, giving them a completely unique effect from other grenades, and allowing the player to preemptively place several types of mines around the area.
In addition, sticky versions of Biohazard, Flash, and GASH grenades have been added to the game. Them and their recipes are distributed around vendors and open world loot.
See the demo video below for the Sticky Mines in action.
Important Notes and Installation Instructions
To install, drag and drop the bin folder into your Cyberpunk 2077 directory.
To uninstall, remove Sticky Mines from Cyberpunk 2077/bin/x64/plugins/cyber_engine_tweaks/mods.
IMPORTANT: If you stack 6 or 7 grenades directly on top of each other, meaning they are all stuck to one another, the game will probably crash. Spacing them out slightly is enough to stop this, if you really want 6+ grenades in the same spot.
The grenades will detonate themselves after 5 minutes.
Special Interactions
One special side effect of turning them into proximity mines is that if you use Drone Companions, you can attach the mines to your drones, and they will activate upon getting close to an enemy.
The sticky GASH grenades are the only type of grenade that don't detonate when shot, the rest do. Perhaps useful if you wanted to put mines on your drones.
In addition, mines can also go on vehicles. While not all that useful in the base game, in something like Vehicle Combat you can innovate to find new ways to fight off enemies in vehicles.
Any mod that adds things that grenades can be attached to is bound to have some sort of interesting interaction with this mod.
See the demo video below for possibilities of this mechanic.
