This mod adds Base Teleporter functionality to the SavePoint build part. This allows you to teleport from anywhere that you can deploy a Save Point, without having to create a base or travel anywhere special to gain access to an existing teleporter. It is an improvement of Aristotale's "Portable (Tele)Porter" and created with permission (see his own mod's posts or contact me for screenshots).
My mod differs in that it will not leave behind a Save Beacon that will project a Save Beacon Icon on the planet, all the way up into space, forever. Aristotale indicated he was not interested in doing this improved mod but that I could go ahead and create it if I'd like.
Instead, my mod uses a SavePoint item. It works just about exactly the same way as his, with tweaks, however when you use this modified SavePoint you will not be leaving behind the "space junk" extraneous icon in your wake.
This mod is functionally well performing. It has been tested in 2D as well as VR. Due to some combination of the lack of adjustability in the given game file technique used and/or possibly my own lack of skill level, it's not aesthetically perfect in VR in sizing and alignment. But again it is fully functional. You will leave behind a small Save Point item but if this worries you, just place it somewhere no one is ever going to see. But again, no permanent planetary projected icons are produced.
Last thing is that I am aware of another mod that adds functionality to a save point, that being "Planetary System Scanner" also by Aristotale. In my testing if you use the Luas for both mods, you will get both functionalities added to the save point, one screen coming up after the other. A little "busy" in process maybe but completely functional.
Files included in the zip for this mod are the following. You would obviously use one or the other, and Pak or Lua require standard use.
BBB_SavePoint_Teleporter.lua
BBB_SavePoint_Teleporter.pak
If you use a Pak and try to use any other such that affect files:
"METADATA/REALITY/TABLES/BASEBUILDINGOBJECTSTABLE.MBIN",
"MODELS/PLANETS/BIOMES/COMMON/BUILDINGS/PARTS/BUILDABLEPARTS/TECH/SAVEPOINT/ENTITIES/SAVEPOINT.ENTITY.MBIN"
...you will get conflicts and not all of the offending mods will express themselves as working within the game. Using a Lua file with the option to "combine" (standard practice) will avoid this and allow the other mods to coexist with this one.
