Many of Orange County’s top high school football players will be making their college destinations official today, Dec. 4, the first day of football’s early signing period.
Players who are seniors (Class of 2025) can sign binding “grant in aid” papers or equivalent documents with a college institution, including the military academies. (The NCAA stopped using the National Letter of Intent system in October.)
This is a three-day early signing period for football. The regular signing period for football begins Feb. 5.
What’s OCVarsity covering today?
OCVarsity will be compiling an extensive signing list with the names of the Orange County players who sign today or will be signing later in the week. (The list is for signees only; it will not list commitments and preferred walk-ons.)
OCVarsity will also be covering two of the big signing events today — at Mater Dei and Mission Viejo.
We’ll have stories and photos from those events.
