An apartment and house in Pasadena were red-tagged after two large trees crashed into both roofs due to high wind Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Around 2:30 p.m., a large tree fell into the roof of a seven-unit apartment building on the 200 block of Barthe Drive, Lisa Derderian, spokeswoman for the City of Pasadena, said. The wind had been ripped the tree out by the roots.
All of the building’s residents, who were displaced but not injured, were given hotel vouchers. It was not immediately known how many people lived in the building, or were home at the time.
Around 2:45 p.m., approximately one-and-half miles away, a another large tree was ripped from the ground and blown into the roof of a single-story home on the 1600 block of Kenilworth Avenue.
The home’s five residents — two adults, three kids and a dog — were in the house at the time, but not injured.
