Remember, remember the fifth of November. But bear in mind that road closures will be in effect for an unforgettable evening of fun and fireworks.

Plymouth Hoe springs to life on Tuesday, November 5, for Bonfire Night. From 4pm, Plymouth Hoe will morph into a bustling centre of entertainment. With exciting rides for all ages and a dedicated children's fairground, there's something to suit everyone.

Head over to the iconic Smeaton's Tower lighthouse for the best views of the bonfire, which will be ignited at 7pm.

Then, at 7.30pm, brace yourself for amazement as skies will burst into life with a spectacular fireworks display launched from the historic Royal Citadel.

However, it's crucial to organise your travel beforehand as Plymouth Hoe and the nearby areas will be extremely busy that night, along with road closures being implemented.

And revellers are reminded that on Tuesday, November 5, Plymouth Argyle are playing at Home Park, so the Milehouse Park & Ride is anticipated to be very crowded and the car park is likely to be filled by early afternoon. The Park and Ride service from Royal Parade will continue to operate at the times listed below, but the Milehouse car park will operate on a first-come, first-served basis and will be very busy.

Plymouth City Council has helpfully put out a list of roadworks that will be taking place across the city over the next week. The council is responsible for coordinating works carried out by utility companies, developers and other organisations as well as their own repair, maintenance and improvement works.

They maintain all public roads in Plymouth except the A38, which is managed by National Highways on behalf of the Department for Transport.

“We know there's no good time to close roads, especially on busy routes and we do everything we can to co-ordinate planned works and minimise their impact on our transport network,” a City Council spokesman said.
