Samsung's new phones—Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra—have many new features and improvements. Samsung has focused a lot on improving the screens, cameras, and performance of the phones by using an improved OLED panel, better camera algorithms, and a newer processor. And it's not just about capturing better images and videos. The company has also improved the experience of viewing those images and videos.

Galaxy S24 can display Super HDR images in the Gallery and Instagram apps

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are the first Samsung phones to support Super HDR. This feature could be based on Google's Ultra HDR format, which was introduced with Android 14 last year. It captures more intricate details in a scene's brightest and darkest parts, resulting in more consistent and richer colors. You can see the Super HDR effect while capturing photos and videos using the Camera app. Once saved in the HDR format, you can view them in the built-in Gallery app with the HDR effect (boosting the display brightness where required).

Samsung has worked with Instagram to support Super HDR images and videos in their Android app. It means whenever you upload an HDR image or video to Instagram or any other supported social media app, it will be uploaded with HDR information. So, whenever you or someone else watches them on a supported device, those images will be displayed with an HDR effect. The South Korean firm is working with other social media apps to support Super HDR images and videos. It isn't clear if these improvements will be released to existing Galaxy smartphones.

Samsung has also worked with Instagram and other social media apps to better support image capture from the camera on the Galaxy S24. It means features like Night Mode and enhanced stabilization (EIS) are supported while capturing images and videos from those social media apps, resulting in much better image quality compared to earlier. Even Motion Photos can be converted to short videos and uploaded to Instagram. So, whether you're using the stock camera app or social media apps to capture your memories, they'll have a higher quality and look great.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Camera Features Instagram Snapchat

This isn't the first time those advanced camera features have been integrated into social media apps on Galaxy smartphones. Samsung first announced support for Night Mode and ultrawide camera for Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok with the Galaxy S21 series, but some of those features were retracted and then brought back after a few months.
