Samsung 5G Standalone Core support now live for KDDI SA services in Japan

In 2023, Samsung signed a business agreement (MOU) with Japan’s mobile carrier KDDI to develop 5G network slicing technology. After a long gap, Samsung cloud-native Standalone Core support finally went live for KDDI nationwide commercial 5G SA services in Japan.

As per the details, Samsung today announced that its cloud-native Standalone (SA) Core is live supporting KDDI nationwide commercial 5G SA services. Notably, the Korean tech giant currently provides network solutions to various mobile operators that deliver connectivity worldwide.

5G Standalone is a way for future alacrity and this advanced technology opens doors to unprecedented benefits, delivering next-generation capabilities. One of the key benefits of 5G SA Core is that it allows the dynamic allocation of resources to different applications known as network slicing.

Simultaneously, Samsung’s 5G SA Core delivers a range of advantages to the operator’s network, including improved reliability and faster response times, required for applications such as cloud gaming, autonomous vehicles, real-time robotics, and immersive video.

Samsung’s 5G SA Core supports include multi-level redundancy that leverages the cloud-native architecture, multi-vendor interoperability, which can be integrated with third-party 5G core network functions, seamless upgrades to SA, and a session continuity with geo-redundancy.

Samsung Secure Wi-fi July 2024 update

Samsung has rolled out a new update to its Secure Wi-Fi app with version 8.6.02.3 for One UI devices. This update is available on the Galaxy Store with a package size of 16.84MB.

The company aims to enhance user experience by making the app more reliable and efficient. The update fixes some issues encountered in the previous version and enhances some functions.

Secure Wi-Fi is essential for Samsung users as it provides added security when connecting to public or unsecured networks. Addressing bugs and enhancing features ensures smoother operation, which is important for security.

Samsung is rolling out the One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy A14 and Galaxy A25 5G smartphones in the Middle East. The update brings more ways to personalize everyday experiences, connect with others, and be more productive.

One UI 6.1 update for Samsung Galaxy A25 5G smartphones in the Middle East brings a May 2024 security patch while Galaxy A14 installs a June 2024 security patch. It improves system security and stability to provide a better Galaxy experience.

Based on Android 14, the major One UI update comes with new features for photo and video management, including an AI that suggests edits, and the ability to copy elements from one image to another.

Moreover, it introduces new lock screen widgets and customizable alarm alerts with multimedia options. The Calendar app now supports adding stickers to dates. This update also enhances data security with improved Samsung Cloud services and introduces Passkey for quicker sign-ins.

Furthermore, some enhancements have been made to the Finder, battery settings, weather widget, Health app, and more.

With a handful of simple steps, users can manually check new software updates. Firstly, visit your Galaxy device’s “System Settings,” once done, scroll down and tap the “Software update” tab, followed by the “Download and install” button.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE may have 5 color options including Black

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE may be available in five color options. The phone is expected to launch later this year, but a reliable source seems already aware of the upcoming shades. Interestingly, the next FE would also be available in Black, the most preferred color among buyers.

According to RossYoung, Samsung may launch five color variants of the Galaxy S24 FE. Black will likely be produced in the highest volume, while the other four colors may include Gray, Light Blue, Light Green, and Yellow. Notably, marketing names may be different from the leaked ones.

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 FE comes in Mint, Cream, Purple, Indigo, Graphite, and Tangerine.

Earlier, we saw the CAD renders of the upcoming smartphone. Rendering showcased that the next FE would feature the same design aesthetics as the Galaxy S24. Meanwhile, the phone’s chin would be thinned over its predecessor, giving a more premium appearance.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S24 FE could be equipped with Exynos 2400 paired with 8GB of RAM. We expect two memory variants of the device, including 128GB and 256GB. The battery may have a capacity of 4,500 mAh, featuring 25W fast charging support.

The Korean tech giant will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event in July. At the event, Samsung will launch the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 foldable phones. Besides, the new lineup of wireless Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Watch Ultra also coming.

If you are wondering about a refreshed design and upgraded specs, wait till January next year. Samsung is said to be working on major design changes for its Galaxy S25 lineup. The Ultra variant may also get upgraded sensors for enhanced photography.
