One UI 6.1.1 will debut a new spam text filtering feature in South Korea. Samsung is preparing to unveil new foldable phones in Paris next month. Meanwhile, a new report indicates that the Korean units will ship with an advanced spam filtering tech.

Next month, upcoming Samsung foldables will bring an advanced spam text filtering feature with One UI 6.1.1. The report mentions that the feature will be limited to South Korean consumers. Older Galaxy devices in the country will get it through the OTA update.

Recently, the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) announced it will provide spam verification data to Samsung so it can provide a spam filtering feature to users. The user may select whether to activate the filtering function and may check or recover the blocked message.

Earlier this year, Samsung collaborated with KISA to establish a service operation environment in March this year and will conduct pilot tests from April to July. It will be applied to all mobile phones that will be released in the second half of the year, the report states.

Interestingly, One UI 6.1.1’s spam filtering will be provided to other Galaxy models through a software update. The feature might be expanded to eligible Galaxy models as early as August. Samsung should also bring an identical method to Global models as well.

Galaxy Unpacked

Next month, Samsung may launch the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Watch 7 series, Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Buds 3 series. The event will likely take place in Paris, France in view of the 2024 Olympics kickstart in late July.
