Special Issue on Petroleum Geology Research
The core research topics in petroleum geology are nothing more than two
major problems: hydrocarbon generation and reservoir formation. Whether there
are abundant oil and gas accumulation and preservation, mainly depends on
whether there are 6 basic conditions of the source beds,
reservoir stratum, caprock, migration, trap and preservation. The research area
of petroleum geology including plate tectonics, sequence stratigraphy, basin
structure research, reservoir diagenesis. With the increasing human demand for
energy, the world petroleum exploration is confronted with severe challenges.
To a new depth (deep exploration), new field (natural gas, unconventional gas,
non structural reservoirs) is to enter the general trend of the oil and gas
exploration. Systematic and in-depth study of oil and gas geology is one of the
main means to improve the efficiency of oil and gas exploration.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line
researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on
exploring petroleum geology research.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Hydrocarbon accumulation geology
-
Oil and gas
exploration
-
Reservoir evaluation technique research
-
Hydrocarbon migration mechanism
-
Unconventional oil and gas
-
Continental petroleum geology
-
Petroleum resource evaluation
Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective
authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through
the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field
“Special Issue – Petroleum Geology
Research” should be chosen during your submission.
