Irix introduces the all-new full-frame 21mm T1.5 cine lens.
Irix, a brand designed by photographers and flmmakers, oers a range o lenses orphotographers and video shooters. Combines precision o Swiss design and quality with Koreaningenuity to oer a powerul mix o supreme optical perormance and high precision assembly .Irix lenses are designed to meet the demands o high end ull rame cameras. Today Irix isintroducing the all-new ull-rame 21mm T1.5 cine lens. This new product – same as other Irixcine lenses is designed or shooting with newest cameras on the market including Ultra HD 8K+cinema cameras with ull rame, Super 35 and other sensors. The Irix 21mm T1.5 optical designincludes 4 Extra-low Dispersion glass elements, 4 High Reective elements and 2 Asphericallenses. There are total 15 elements in 11 groups. An image circle o 43,3mm, is completelycovering every sensor size rom Full Frame 35 down to 1/3” sensors. The circular, 11-blade irisconstruction, provides a pleasant background blur and a smooth adjustment in range rom T1.5to T16. With practically no ocus breathing (below 1 degree in ull range rom 0,3m to infnity).Lens is also Distortion ree (below 2%). Those are the technical aspects, but Irix Cine lenses areoering something more, they are designed to provide the flm substance and unique soul. Theyare supposed to have that “special look”, unidentifed special thing, that makes the movie standout. Irix lenses come with their own cinematic look, the “Irix look”.New Irix 21mm gives reedom to your creativity. It’s wide, but in controlled way, enoughto avoid unnecessary distortions o subjects. Irix 21mm T1,5 is perect or a close shots in tightspaces when it’s needed to have the background also visible. At the same time, ast aperturehelps to isolate the subject o the picture in the same way as while using telephoto lenses. T1.5opens up almost unlimited possibilities to shoot in any light conditions.It’s also worth to notice that new Irix 21mm is matching perectly with Irix 30mm and45mm, both T1.5 – creating the unifed, ast T1.5 set, which allows to shoot in almost allscenarios. This set can be easily expanded with other Irix cine lenses like 11mm T4.3, 15mm T2.6and 150mm T3.0
Irix Cinematic Design
The new 21mm T1.5 is ollowing other Irix Cine lenses designed and made in accordance withthe standards o the proessional flm industry. They are all combining the traditional lenssolutions and modern innovation. All Irix Cine lenses have a ront size o 95mm and geared Mod0.8 M rings, which ensure compatibility with most accessories available on the market, like ollowocus or mattebox. All Irix lenses are precisely tested in controlled conditions, to make sure youget the highest standards lens. The ocus and aperture rings are aligned at the same distanceand have the same rotation angle. With the exception o the Irix 150mm T3.0 Macro 1:1, where alonger 270 degrees ocus throw is necessary, the rest o the Irix Cine range have ring rotations o 180 degrees or the ocus ring and 75 degrees or the aperture ring.

Irix lenses are designed to work in any whether condition that human can handle. Doesn’tmatter i your new flm will be made in the very hot and humid jungle, at the desert or snows o the northern pole. The lenses are resistant to rain, sand, snow or dust. Engraved markings onthe lens have been flled with UV-reactive paint, thanks to which flming in dicult lightingconditions becomes much easier.
Lightweight and compact design
Irix
Cine lenses are one o the most compact and lightest flm lenses covering the ull rameormat. The housing o the new 21mm T1.5 is made in the same way as other rom Irix lineup, alightweight but resistant aluminum-magnesium alloy. Thanks to such a construction andkeeping in mind how important is weight balance, we reached our goal to keep consistent weightwith other Irix Cine lenses line - 1.1 kg (2,4lbs) . Because o this small weight Irix cine lenses canbe used on smaller cameras on handheld rigs or stabilizers as well as with the proessionalequipment. Moreover all the Irix Cine lenses are equipped with a lens support oot – thatprovides better stabilization and comort while working with ollow ocus systems. Depending onthe needs, this support oot can be attached to the lower or upper part o the lens.
