The Organizing Committee of the Third International Conference of the journal “Scuola Democratica” is pleased to invite all conference participants to contribute to the official conference proceedings, which will be published next year as an ISBN-provided volume. Please find below the information regarding submission, editorial criteria, and timelines.


Submit Your Contribution for the Conference Proceedings

1. How to Participate

  • All authors and co-authors of submissions accepted at the Third International Conference of Scuola Democratica are encouraged to expand and elaborate on their original submissions by proposing an original contribution for the conference proceedings.
  • Conference convenors are invited to submit an additional contribution serving as an general introduction to their panels.
  • All contributions must adhere to the editorial guidelines (see below) and use the proceedings template (download). Failure to comply will result in desk rejection.
  • Contributions must be submitted as Microsoft Word DOCX files via the Conftool platform. To submit, participants must log into the Conftool platform, navigate to their submission(s), and select the options “Your Submission and Certificate for (Co)Authors” / 
    “Conference Proceedings Submission”. Manuscript featuring tables and/or figures will be submit along with a separate Excel file too (see below). 
  • The deadline for submitting contributions to the proceedings is December 1, 2024.

     

2. Guidelines for Authors

Once submitted, papers that do not comply with one or more of the following requirements will not be reviewed or published.

2.1. Authors and Co-Authors

No additional authors can be added to submissions for the proceedings. The authors of each submission for the proceedings must be the same of the corresponding submission that was accepted and presented at the Third International Conference of Scuola Democratica.

2.2. Manuscript Lenght

  • Authors’ submissions: Manuscripts from authors must be between 14,000 and 18,000 characters (including spaces title, author names, affiliations, abstract, keywords, main text, references). Four figures and/or tables maximum are allowed (see below).
  • Convenors submissions: Manuscripts from convenors must be between 8.000 and 10.000 characters (including spaces, title, author names, affiliations, main text, references. No figures/tables/images are allowed (see below).
    Regarding convenors submissions, please note that:
    • The title of the contribution must match the title of the panel.
    • No abstract or keywords are required.
    • No tables or figures are allowed.

2.3. Template and Editorial Guidelines

The template includes all necessary formatting instructions through Microsoft Word styles and comments.

2.4. Language

Manuscripts must be written in English. Only submissions with native-level English proficiency will be accepted.

2.5. Tables, Figures, and Images

  • Submissions with more than four tables, figures, graphs, or photographs will not be accepted for publication.
  • Tables, figures, and images must be included both in the Microsoft Word file, at the chosen location in the manuscript, and separately in a single Microsoft Excel file with separate sheets for each table/figure/image (max. 4).
  • Please use the term “FIGURE” instead of “GRAPH.”
  • Authors are responsible for obtaining rights for any included iconographic material.

2.6. Acknowledgments and Attribution

  • The acknowledgments section of the manuscript, as shown in the template, is placed at the end of the document before the references and must be removed if not used.
  • All author attribution notes will be removed during editing.

2.7. Proofreading

Once files are submitted, no revisions are allowed after the submission deadline. Galley proof will not be provided to authors.
